Somali shot after attacking Danish cartoonist

A Somali man believed to have ties to terrorist groups was shot as he enteren the home of Danish political cartoonist Kurt Westergaard -- known for his controversial depictions of the Muslim prophet Mohammed -- on Friday, police said.

The 27-year-old man, who was not identified, wielded an ax and a knife and cracked a window at Westergaard's home in Aarhus, said police spokesman Morten Jensen. A home alarm alerted police to the scene at 10 p.m., and they were attacked by the man, he said.

The officers shot the man in the right leg and left hand. He was hospitalized, but was not seriously injured, police said.

Danish intelligence officials said the suspect is connected to al-Shabaab, al Qaeda's ally in east Africa.

The incident "once again confirms the terrorist threat that is directed against Denmark and against cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, in particular," said Jakob Scharf, spokesman for the Danish Security and Intelligence Service, in a statement.

Once again we see confirmation of the boundless depth of evil that Islam respesents. I hope this moron gets the hardest punishment available and then gets thrown out of Denmark forever.

Christopher Hitchens on our absurd ideas of 'Security'

Christopher Hitchens cuts through the nonsense: The truth about airplane security measures.

Why do we fail to detect or defeat the guilty, and why do we do so well at collective punishment of the innocent? The answer to the first question is: Because we can't—or won't. The answer to the second question is: Because we can. The fault here is not just with our endlessly incompetent security services, who give the benefit of the doubt to people who should have been arrested long ago or at least had their visas and travel rights revoked. It is also with a public opinion that sheepishly bleats to be made to "feel safe." The demand to satisfy that sad illusion can be met with relative ease if you pay enough people to stand around and stare significantly at the citizens' toothpaste.
[...]
What nobody in authority thinks us grown-up enough to be told is this: We had better get used to being the civilians who are under a relentless and planned assault from the pledged supporters of a wicked theocratic ideology. These people will kill themselves to attack hotels, weddings, buses, subways, cinemas, and trains. They consider Jews, Christians, Hindus, women, homosexuals, and dissident Muslims (to give only the main instances) to be divinely mandated slaughter victims. Our civil aviation is only the most psychologically frightening symbol of a plethora of potential targets.

I completely agree. The death cult of Islam must be defeated at all costs.

Pat Buchanan Advocates Torture for NW 253 Suspect

Here's Pat Buchanan on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” show, advocating torturing the NW 253 bomber by withholding pain medicine for his burns.

FLV Movie

Actually not a bad idea. He is a terrorist after all and should be treated as such. Of course he shouldn't have access to pain medicine except to keep him conscious and able to fully enjoy the fruits of his efforts (the pain).

For punishment when he's convicted he should be punished in all new ways. No simple prison term or a regular trip to death row. We need inventive new punishments for people that have waived their human rights (look back to times before human rights were invented) and we should consider new ways of administering them.

I would love to see a "Running Man" like show on global television where the audience could administer punishments interactively. The available punishments should be selected by the courts and there would be a doctor present to ensure that nothing goes out of hand and that the convict doesn't die too soon (or at all if no death sentence is imposed). But the possibility of regular people actively getting back at these bastards, fulfilling all desires for revenge for 9/11, is thoroughly thrilling!

More profiling at the airports!

Mike Gallagher says we should have separate lines at airports for anyone with the name Ahmed, Abdul, or Mohammed.

I most certainly agree. The current security theater at the airports is more than a joke. Not only is it a major hassle that removes any dignity from air travelers; it's also non-effective. The 9/11 attack can still happen as the current technology and restrictions does not prevent someone from bringing a carbon fiber box cutter on a plane and that was all the 9/11 terrorists needed to hijack four planes and commit the worst act of terror ever. But simple profiling would have kept them all off the plane and probably in prison.

The part about alienating 1 billion people (the Muslims) - so what!? They need to clearly distance themselves from the groups committing terror and the groups justifying it (the existance of Israel etc.) and as long as they don't and still talk about themselves as one group, one family - they're just as guilty as the people actually blowing up bombs.

Welcome!

I created this blog as a place where refugees from blogs like "Little Green Footballs" (LGF) can gather and discuss the things that Charles (owner of LGF) suddenly is too holy to allow. This is why it will feature a lot of reposts from LGF in order for people to say what they want now that LGF is losing its edge.

Specifically he banned a bunch of people (including yours truly) for saying what we all think: That a terrorist has no rights and should be treated accordingly. Dunno if he actually has fooled himself into thinking that he doesn't have such 'fantasies' but I'm sure nobody that witnessed 9/11 and all the Islamic terror that followed actually think these people should be treated like any other criminal when caught or when punished. In my opinion they shouldn't. They waived their human rights when they turned to terror and thus they must face the consequences when they get caught - with no rights to protect them just as they offered no protection to the innocent victims of their ultimate crime.

Yes, Charles is getting old - and soft. There's no room for soft in this world. We gotta be hard and we gotta be swift. Any act of terror (or attempt) must result in a response at least as hard and at least as lethal. The only way to win the war on terror is to be completely dedicated to defeating the enemy at any cost. A global war with most or all of Islam is a fair price to pay to eradicate all the fundamentalists, and such a war begins at home. It begins with a harsh and brutal response to all acts of terror, and it includes the complete elimination of any rights for captured terrorists followed by a punishment so extreme that it will echo around the globe. Nothing less will do it.

Oh, and we need WTC rebuilt as it was. It doesn't matter if it's an old design and that it isn't up to standards. It's a big fat fuck finger in the face of those cowardly enough to plan and execute the attack - and we need that in a big way.
